Lastly, stepping out of my comfort zone here, but the Federal Government can’t keep borrowing/printing money without consequence. The Bill will come due!

This was one of my big griefs with churches that took the “covid” money, the money used to back that program was stolen from future generations of Americans.

Some terms 

Exchange
Service to buy, sell, trade crypto. There are transaction fees for exchanging fiat currency to/from crypto, just like exchanging the dollar to/from the euro.
Examples: coinbase.com, binance, kraken

I actually use multiple exchanges. Some exchanges will exchange certain cryptos that others won’t.

Wallet
Used to store crypto

Web wallet
Wallet hosted on/at a website. exchanges by default are also a web wallet. In general, though, funds should NEVER be stored at/on an  exchange. Exchanges should be utilized only for transferring or trading funds; when at rest, all funds should be stored in a local wallet.

App wallet
Wallet based on a phone app. Practical application for storing what “spending” crypto you want to have on hand. Just like a physical wallet in your pocket while walking around, how much you keep in your app wallet is based on what you might need to spend, and what an acceptable loss would be if it were stolen.
Examples: Atomic or Exodus multi-exchange wallets

Note: web and app wallets are under control of outside forces. The exchange or app owner or service providers could block or restrict access. Service outages could prevent access, etc…

Software wallet
Software application on your desktop/laptop. Like your checking account. Safer medium term storage of crypto likely to be moved around for buying, selling, trading, etc…

Hardware wallet
A device for high security long term storage. Like a savings account, or better yet, a safe deposit box.
Examples: Ledger nano x, trezor, coldcardwallet

Note: search for the exchange and wallets that hold the coins you want to hold.

Paying/Buying/Selling Transactions

Your wallet will have receive/send or deposit/withdrawal functions.

If you are paying (sending/withdrawing) with crypto, it will ask what address to send to, you just get that from the recipient. The address is a long string of numbers and letters or a QR code.

Same thing to receive a payment (receive/deposit). Your wallet will give you a list of addresses, choose one and send it (chat, text, email, etc…) to the payer, and they just paste it into their paying function in their wallet. 

Thats it!

Note: There are many, many cautions to double verify the address you are sending crypto too! Once you send it you can’t get it back! Don’t fall for phishing/spam messages.

Staking and rewards

Some block chains have utility beyond crypto currency, like Cardano (ADA), and you can “stake” your wallet to earn rewards.

Brothers, this week I want to pray for America. We do not have a President Elect yet. However, there is a lot of media mis-information and censorship. The election matters to Christians and in particular Christian homeschoolers. I sat in on the Family Research Council prayer tonight (https://prayvotestand.org) and it was really powerful. I pray God’s will be done. I pray that if there is corruption lying and cheating in this election that God would reveal it, and that He would bring the wrong doers to justice. Truth and justice, God, is what we desire. God, may the events of this year awaken the church to renewed faith, discipleship, and evangelism.

The Race issue, CRT, BLM?

I wanted to compile some resources regarding CRT, Critical Race Theory. Many good Christians feel compelled to support CRT and BLM because it is good to fight racism. Standing against racism and for justice are good things, however CRT and BLM are not compatible with Biblical justice and Biblical understanding of humanity and race. They are incompatible with Jesus’ redemptive work.

If you are a Christian, you must stop perpetuating the “race” lie. Stop using the terms as defined by unbelievers, and stop getting caught in the argument as framed by the world. Reenchant the argument with God’s truth and grace.

There is only one human race created in the image of God! Male and female he created the human race, and all humans are endowed by their creator with eternal value.

God has created us with beautiful and colorful diversity. Rejoice and praise God for our ethnic and cultural diversity!

A major part of CRT is its presuppositions—which it demands you accept. These include:

  • Racism is engrained in the fabric & system of the American society

These presuppositions are not to be questioned. They are asserted and acceptance is required. Otherwise, you are a racist and become “Exhibit A” for the first presupposition listed above...

The gospel provides full atonement in the once-for-all-death of Jesus on the cross. All who turn from sin and trust Him are justified instantly and completely. There is no need to do works—anti-racist or any other kind—in hopes of making oneself acceptable to some unknowable standard. Justification is by grace, through faith in Christ, without any works at all mixed into the foundation…

Any Christian leader who understands CT/CRT/I & refuses to reject them is not a trustworthy guide in the battle that is currently raging within the church and culture. Anyone who promotes any of these ideologies is either too naive to be a leader or has become complicit with the enemy against Christ.

When the magistrate is defying God, then courageous men in the pulpit should be authoritatively naming what is happening, and denouncing it ( Matt. 14:4). As the saying goes, when the government starts saying that you don’t need a gun, then you need a gun.

Just War Theory

Independence Day Blues

I feel a bit like a hypocrite during Fourth of July celebrations.

Americans have collectively been giving away their liberties for the past 60 years or more. In 2019 we have actual socialists running for president.

And a large portion of blame is on my fellow citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven for abdicating their worldly civil duties to the shame of our eternal King.

Socialism: Not a good idea

Excerpt from Imprimis: Property Rights and Religious Liberty

“James Madison wrote an essay on property in 1792 in which he connects property rights to all human rights, including freedom of religion, speech, and the press. Madison defines property as ‘every thing to which a man may attach a value and have a right, and which leaves to every one else the like advantage‘ (emphasis in original)—the italicized words distinguish the natural rights of the Declaration of Independence from the kind of rights proclaimed by socialism, such as the right to a guaranteed income or to free education, which by definition make claims on the property of others…

Madison concludes: ‘In a word, as a man is said to have a right to his property, he may be equally said to have a property in his rights.’ … 

Knowing the horrors of modern war, Churchill hated and feared war all his life. Yet he made this speech to rally his cabinet, as he would rally the British nation, to war. Why? Because he was possessed of the knowledge of the nature of the human being—the fact that we are made in God’s image to confront the eternal questions from inside a mortal body, and that our rights to our property and our rights to conscience and religious liberty are aspects of the two parts that integrate to make the human being. Churchill thought the human being was a thing produced by nature and by God and that no man, not even Adolf Hitler with his vast divisions, could ever conquer that. He fought for that belief. I think we are going to have to fight for it too.”
