Household Prayer: Knowing God

To know God

“For what higher, more exalted, and more compelling goal can there be than to know God?”

J. I. Packer, Knowing God

Brothers, I am praying today that we would know God more, and that we would find joy in making Him known to our children. I pray that by making family worship and Bible study a priority in our homes their hearts would rejoice in knowing Him.

“And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”

John 17:3 ESV

““You shall therefore lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”

Deuteronomy 11:18-19 ESV

“Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the Lord.””

Jeremiah 9:23-24 ESV
