Reading List: An Important Sunday – Life and Freedom

An Important Sunday https://www.cwfpac.com/friday-january-14-2022-important-victory-bidens-bad-start-america-risk

This Sunday, January 16th, commemorates two very important issues –

Sanctity of Human Life Sundayhttps://erlc.com/resource-library/articles/what-you-should-know-about-sanctity-of-human-life-sunday/  and

National Religious Freedom Day  – https://cnsnews.com/index.php/commentary/david-bereit/never-take-religious-freedom-granted

In 1984, President Ronald Reagan called on Americans to “give thanks for the gift of life, and to reaffirm our commitment to the dignity of every human being and the sanctity of each human life.”  Many churches will do just that this Sunday.

National Religious Freedom Day is celebrated on January 16th to mark the anniversary of the adoption of the Virginia Statute of Religious Freedom written by Thomas Jefferson in 1786.

Jefferson’s statute served as the model for our First Amendment guarantee of religious freedom, which states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. . .”

This Sunday, I hope you and your church will join me in praying for the protection of innocent life and for the protection of religious liberty in America.
